This knot draws tight and can be used even on wet or icy ropes. It works only in one direction and sometimes it is called the asymmetrical Prusik knot. It can also be tied with a flat sling. The use is similar as with the Prusik knot. Put the double thin sling four or five times around a rope upwards – there will be a small bight and you pull the other end of the sling through this bight and pull it down. The number of turns determines the strength of the tightening effect.
