Plait

A tightening knot which can be easily untied even with two fingers. It is suitable for self-belaying when abseiling and in rescuing techniques. It is possible to tie it with a rounded or flat sling. Two turns are tied around a rope and then you change the free ends under and over (see the picture). The free rope ends are clipped into a karabiner. The knot takes the most space on a rope out of all tightening knots.
